Wow, so the last time I wrote a
column I was complaining about how upset I was and how long it would be
until next season came around, but November is going to come faster
than I ever imagined! It's already June and I have been crazy busy! The
day after Highland Heights I started riding again, and getting back
into my training routine. I've been keeping in touch with most of the
AMA Arenacross Series riders, who are all very excited for next season
already and have been training and getting prepared! I won my area
qualifier for Loretta Lynn's down at Log Road MX here in Michigan.
The
next weekend I took off and went to Las Vegas for the Monster Energy®
Supercross Finals and watched some awesome supercross races go down in
the record books. Kevin and Keith Johnson were there racing for Team
Faith. A lot of the track crew workers who worked with arenacross were
helping out over there in Vegas too and it was good to catch up with
them! After Vegas, it was back to training and riding for me!
I
went last weekend to Sunday Creek MX in Millfield, Ohio for the MidEast
Loretta Lynn's Regional Qualifier. It rained every night we were there,
but the days were hot and sunny and the track was great! I rode very
consistent and had a great weekend, and I also ended up leaving Sunday
Creek a regional champion! I went 1-1-1 for my first regional win! What
a confidence booster that was for me! I am SO excited for Loretta
Lynn's AMA Amateur National Championship the first week in August. It's
going to come a lot faster than I think! I also hung out with some of
my 60 riders who raced some of the arenacross races. I watched and hung
out with Jason Felkey, and unfortunately I had to say goodbye early to
Ashton Hayes and his dad. Ashton hurt his neck, but he has a back-up
region to go to so I wish him the best of luck!
I have a lot of
exciting opportunities on the horizon for the rest of this summer. I am
racing my first WMA pro race of the season next weekend over at High
Point. I'll be racing the last 2 WMA pro nationals after Loretta's is
done as well; Southwick and also Steel City. I am very excited for the
remaining of this summer; I've been training and riding as much as
possible, my attitude is positive and right where I need it, and I have
the want and desire to hopefully finish top 5 at Loretta's! I hope to
see a lot of the arenacross fans down in Tennessee for Loretta's! When
I'm not on the track racing, I'm going to be down at our Arenacross
booth we'll have set up on Vendors Row and I would love to see all of
you. I'll also be up in the announcers tower helping out Wes Kain! I
hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as I am and I look
forward to the next AX season, and I imagine you all are too!!
SMiLE!! :)
