James Povolny, I’m 32 and I ride for Team On Track for EMSF Performance/Panic Rev MX.

First time you were on a motorcycle?
I was five years old.

How many years have you been racing?
27 years.

Why do you like racing so much?
Honestly, I just like everything about it. I love the competition and the rush.

Best race you’ve ever seen?
The Motocross of Nations this year. It was the first time that I had a chance to go and the atmosphere was unbelievable.

Your greatest accomplishment so far?
Having a two digit national number for 12 years and my ninth place overall finish at Budds Creek in 2004.

Favorite racer of all-time?
Ricky Carmichael because the guy is so determined.

Tell us something about your hometown?
I’m from Mendota Heights, Minnesota and we have the Mall of America.

One thing you take with you when you travel?
My bible.

What do you eat before a race?
I eat a lot of pasta.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I listen to everything from Country to Rock.

American Idol or Biggest Loser.

Most annoying thing about you?
My wife says I’m very fidgety.

I’m married and I have two boys.

Mel Gibson and Russell Crowe.

My wife, of course.

Anything my mom cooks but my wife is starting to catch up with her.

When you’re done racing, what would you like to do?
I want to stay in the industry and train up and coming riders.
