Kelly Smith, age 27, and I ride for Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki.

First time you were on a motorcycle?
I was four years old.

How many years have you been racing?
13 years

Why do you like racing so much?
I like the competition and the people.

Best race you’ve ever seen?
Pretty much all the nationals this year when RC and Stewart weren’t there (laughs).

Your greatest accomplishment so far?
Winning the U.S. Open in the Lites and Four-Stroke classes.

Favorite racer of all-time?
Jean-Michel Bayle and Kevin Windham because I like the way they ride.

Tell us something about your hometown?
I live in Ludington, Mich., and we have the Lake Michigan Car Ferry.

One thing you take with you when you travel?
I really try to take my wife and kids with me.

What do you eat before a race?
A lot of sandwiches.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I pretty much listen to everything except for Country.

Favorite TV show?
Criminal Minds.

Favorite magazine?
Racer X because my wife works there.

Most annoying thing about you?
I’m always making jokes and I think a lot of people are getting sick of me.

I have a beautiful wife, Kristin, and three kids.

My wife.

I would like to fly airplanes.
