Miss Arenacross Ashley - Turkey Day

Hello everyone! Just checking in to see how your week off was and tell you all a little about mine. I had a great time on Turkey Day! It was my first time I had to cook a Turkey on my own, without the help of my parents. I really love to cook so I didn’t mind making a big Thanksgiving feast! We did dinner really early. People were going to come over between 11am and noon, so that meant that in order to get the turkey perfectly cooked I had to start the 15 pounder at 7am. YIKES! No, it really wasn’t as scary as I thought it was going to be, I stressed about it pretty much all of Wednesday and Wednesday night. You know those dreams I usually have that I am going to miss my 6am flight to the next Arenacross round and you wake up every hour thinking my alarm didn’t go off? Well it was similar only they were nightmares of not waking up to start the turkey and completely ruining Thanksgiving. I am silly, I know! But we woke up on time and the turkey was in the oven by 7:15am, a little late, but not too stressed out about it. While the turkey was cooking, my good friend Cherie and I were attempting to make the other dishes and also get ourselves, her kids and the house ready and presentable for the guests to arrive. It was a little crazy around the house.

The turkey was finished at 10:30am I was relieved! People came at about 11am and I was nowhere near ready, my hair was still wet. Oh well, the food was pretty much ready, or so I thought! The best part of the day was when we were getting all the food ready to serve, I looked at Cherie and realized I had forgot to make the stuffing! OOPS! What is Thanksgiving without stuffing!! I kind of panicked but luckily nobody noticed there was too much food to eat anyway! The meal was delicious. We all stuffed ourselves to the maximum capacity, and still somehow found room for pumpkin pie!!

It was nice to have a weekend off; I got to rest up, visit with friends and family, and of course do some shopping! But as always, I am excited to get back to the Arenacross racing action. We head off to Rockford this weekend! I am excited because we haven’t been there since winter of 2005. It should be an incredible race since the points are still so close together! I look forward to seeing you all at the races! Don’t forget to stop by and say hi if you are at the races. I would love to see everyone!

XOXO,

Ashley Miss Arenacross
