Another awesome weekend on the crazy train, destination Milwaukee! As soon as I
got to the airport I knew it was going to be a great weekend. A 25 minute
flight. Are you kidding me?! It doesn’t get much better than that. Since I live
right on the edge of the East coast and Central time zones I got in a time
machine for the ride. It is way cool to land before you take off. I didn’t even
care that my bags got lost in the process. I just wandered up to the closest pub
and ordered the local brew. Wisconsin was playing Davidson for a trip to the
Elite 8, and I met a couple that were true Cheeseheads rooting for the Badgers.
Mark and Tammy took me in and made me feel like family while I waited for my
luggage situation to get sorted out. They even told me they were coming to the
show on Saturday, along with Tammy‘s younger sister Amy. Sweet, I would have at
least three people listening to me! After about, oh I don’t know, an hour or six
later my lost clothing was found and I was on my way to the hotel. Kudos to Rob
for the sweet digs this weekend, we were at the Hyatt and it had a great view
and terrific location. If you have never been to Milwaukee you have to check out
the Safe House on Front St. It is this way cool restaurant with a spy theme and
a bunch of fun secret rooms and stuff. You have to know the password to get in,
or do a funny dance. The best part about the dancing is they have hidden cameras
in the entry area and everyone in the bar watches and laughs at your antics. I
ran into Big A and the Rookie at the hotel on my way back to my room and we
kicked it for a few in the hotel bar. Aaron just had a baby and he was totally
stoked to show off the pics of the little one. It was great to see how happy he
was and his smile was a mile wide when he was showing me the pictures on his
camera phone. They had a VERY early crew call, (4 a.m.) so we called it a
night.

This was my first weekend working with Rob Chase and he had me
come in at noon so we could spend some extra time going over the show. It paid
off BIG time as the whole show was awesome. Rob is top shelf and I have a great
time whenever I work for him. It was a little bitter sweet since most of the
riders were doing their last show of the year and were going off in separate
directions until next fall. One of the things most people don’t realize is these
guys are like a family. Sometimes literally, as in the Rowe clan. Jason and
Jack’s Mom and Dad always open their home to all the guys and give them a place
to stay when they are near Chicago. Speaking of Mr. Right I hope he is okay
after a hard landing a back flip superman. Get healthy Jack, I want to see you
tearin’ it up on T.V. this summer! After the show we decamped for the Hyatt. Jen
had the hook up and invited everyone to the suite, yes I said suite (SWEET), she
had on the 17th floor for the after party. She had the bar stocked
and we all spent a couple of hours reminiscing about the ’07-’08 season. Phil
got on a roll and had the whole place crackin’ up. That dude is a ton of fun to
be around. After everyone said their good byes and see ya next years we called
it a night.
