Xpress - Wheeling, WV

The Carolina Xpress continued to do well in Wheeling. We knew it was going to be an action packed weekend when we noticed the hockey rink dashers were still in place. With the series, only having two rounds remaining the Xpress is definitely trying to show their stuff.

Friday night’s Lites main was a great race for the fans. Blair, Modjewski, Neese, and Chester came out in the top four spots. Nothing changed until lap six when the red flag popped out (Rider down and he couldn't get up). A single file restart was set-up and it was back to racing. Neese made a move on Modjewski with a few laps left but he couldn't make it stick. I'm sure he was holding back a bit to save energy for the Arenacross main... Neese got the last spot on the podium with  Chester finishing fourth.

The Arenacross main was definitely one to remember. Buckelew pulled the holeshot with Neese in tow. Neese followed him around until approximately lap ten when he put his blinker on, pulled over into the passing lane(in the whoops) and went on by...Neese pulled off to a comfortable lead and gave a little fist pump whip as he received the checkered flag. Buckelew took one for the team and let Smith by for second putting him third.  Chester had a good ride finishing up eighth.

Saturday night Neese was sidelined in the Lites class due to points. Chester was left with the weight on his shoulders to carry the Xpress to the front.  Blair got the holeshot followed by Chester and Modjewski. Modjewski passed Chester and Blair for the win. Blair finished second Chester third. It was good to be back on the box...

The Arenacross main on Saturday saw Buckelew get another holeshot and lead wire to wire.  Neese stayed with in striking distance until he found himself in a battle with Tuff-Cernics Racing Danny Smith. Smith slipped by Neese with a lap or two left putting him back to third. Buckelew, Smith and Neese is how they finished. Great ride for Jumpin Jimmy Neese. Chester, after a horrible start, finished twelfth.

With the series ending next week in Nashville, the Xpress is looking forward to having another great weekend. Neese is looking to break into the top five in the points. Chester is going to do his best to wrap up the South Lites title. It is going to be a tough weekend.

See ya in Nashville.
