Final round - Well, final round except for the last two rounds that do not count any points. Wait, they do count for points for the Lites east region. After the banquet? What?
Anyway, regardless of the scheduling issues, the racing this weekend was as exciting as ever. There were a bunch of point’s battles going on other than just for the title, and it definitely made for some intense moments. Danny did what he had to do to wrap up the championship, even after a close call w/ a psycho lapper.
Chester and I both had mediocre weekends at best. James rode well, but had bad luck. Saturday night, when another rider clipped Jim’s bars, throwing both of them down hard. Unfortunately, it cost Chester the Lites south title. I had a point’s chase of my own w/ Sellards and Bucky for sixth place, and I really wanted my number back for next year. Average starts and shaky riding kept me from doing that. I did get seventh though, which I will gladly take after the way the season started.
We do want to say thanks to the Wild Horse Saloon and Live Nation for putting together a great banquet. I think everybody had a great time and I know the Carolina Xpress is already looking forward to next year.
On Monday, Jim Chester made his way up to the Indy Dealer Show to say “Hey” to our sponsors and mingle with the motorcycle industry. Extra road time this trip, but worth it to catch up with people.
Big thanks also goes out to all our sponsors – Suzuki, Moose Racing, Kenda Tires, Shoei, CV4, Total Control, FMF, RidePG.com, Smith, Renthal, Works Connection, Hot Cams, Liquid Performance, Wiseco and Extremeion. The team appreciates all the support we are receiving from our sponsors. We do everything we can to promote these companies and work hard to make sure that people buy our sponsors’ products.
