The AMA Toyota Arenacross series continued on Saturday night in Grand Rapids and the temperature outside was cold, but the action inside was HOT! Starting with the Lites class, Grand Rapids local, Nick Vaughn was off to a great start in second place, and Brad Modjewski, grabbed the holeshot. By the middle of the race, it was Kevin Markwardt who found himself in the lead, doing an incredible job after a tough start. Travis Hodges, of Omaha, also got in the mix with only a couple of laps to go finishing second behind Markwardt, and in front of Modjewski on the podium when the dust settled.
Moving on to the Arenacross class, Matt Barnes grabbed the holeshot on his Stark MX.com Honda, but was unable to hold on to the lead because fellow Ohioan, Brock Sellards was on a mission. Sellards, who rides for RCA, passed Barnes on lap 10 after a terrible start and held on for the win. Teddy Maier also hit the podium and Barnes in the final turn giving him a second place finish in from of Barnes.
There was a lot of action on and off the track, we would like to welcome Torco to the Arenacross series and say thanks to Shawmut Hills Sales for there involvement.
