KELLY SMITH WINS IN HAMPTON, VA Gray Davenport wins Lites class
Hampton, VA (February 1, 2008) ? Kelly Smith ran down the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle hole shot winner, Gray Davenport on the Team Babbits/Monster Energy Kawasaki, for the win tonight at the Hampton Coliseum. Davenport out lasted Jim Neese for second with the Foremost Insurance/Carolina Express rider occupying the final spot on the podium.
Kelly Smith said, ?I want to thank my mechanic and the great crowd out here tonight.? About his victory he said, ?I knew I had a pretty good lead and took it easy at the end so I didn?t throw away the victory. I made a mistake earlier in the season that cost me a win and didn?t want that to happen again. My Team Babbits/Monster Energy Kawasaki was runnin? really well.?
In the AMA Arenacross Lites class, Team Triple Effect rider Gray Davenport took advantage of a huge hole shot to take the win. Davenport ran away and hid while Tyler Bright had a solid run aboard his Foremost Insurance/Carolina Express Suzuki to finish second with Team GPF/Babbits Online?s Dave Ginolfi rounding out the top three.
Racing returns to the Hampton Coliseum tomorrow night for a full slate of racing.
